Terms of Service
Last updated: July 5, 2026 · HeirCalc, a Krometis Analytics product
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using HeirCalc (the "Service"), operated by Krometis Analytics ("we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What HeirCalc is — and is not
HeirCalc is an informational estimating tool that models potential cross-border inheritance, estate, and gift-tax exposure from the facts you enter. Every figure it produces is an estimate for discussion only. HeirCalc is not legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice, is not a substitute for a qualified professional, and does not create any advisory, fiduciary, attorney-client, or accountant-client relationship. Tax law is complex, fact-specific, and changes frequently; valuations, elections, treaties, trusts, forced-heirship rules, reliefs, and local surcharges can change an outcome materially and may not be modeled. You are solely responsible for verifying every figure with a qualified cross-border professional before relying on it, filing, or acting.
3. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, currentness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the figures, rules data, foreign-exchange rates, or law-monitoring are accurate, complete, current, or error-free, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or secure.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Krometis Analytics or its owners, contributors, or suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, tax, penalties, interest, or other losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service or reliance on any figure it produces, whether based in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.
5. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for how you use any output. You agree not to misuse the Service, attempt to circumvent access controls or the subscription paywall, disrupt the Service, or use it in violation of applicable law.
6. Subscriptions and payment
Paid plans are billed through PayPal on the terms shown at checkout and may be cancelled there at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and access ends at the paid-through date. Prices and features may change on a prospective basis. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, its content, and its underlying models are owned by Krometis Analytics and protected by law. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. You retain your own inputs; scenarios are processed in your browser as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Changes and termination
We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time; material changes take effect when posted here with an updated date, and continued use constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or terminate access for any misuse or violation of these Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Boston, Massachusetts, unless applicable law provides otherwise. Nothing here limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have as a consumer in your jurisdiction.
